KAMAZ Military Trucks

"KAMAZ Inc." is the Russian manufacturer of a wide range of diesel engines and military trucks of 3t - 40t load capacity, including all-wheel drive multipurpose trucks of the Mustang family.
MUSTANG DIESEL MILITARY TRUCKS

KAMAZ-5350 6x6 military truck and KAMAZ-43501 4x4 military truck with scaled-down wheelbase.

KAMAZ experience of trucks successful operation in military and defence structures as well as design reserve were the prerequisites for developing the multi-purpose Mustang military truck family, including KAMAZ 4350 (4x4), KAMAZ 5350 (6x6), KAMAZ 6350 (8x8), with load capacities of 4t, 6t and 10t, respectively.
Mustang military trucks are equipped with EURO-2 360hp engines, reinforced transfer cases and 2550mm cargo beds with fixtures for transportation of European-type removable containers.

The KAMAZX-6350 (top) has a 10t to 16t load capacity and is the most unified with serial trucks. The three-axial KAMAZ-65224 (bottom) has a GVW of 30t and load capacity up to 18t.
Mustang family trucks are provided with turbo-chargers with 'air-air' aftercooling that allows to use trucks in high altitudes (up to 4500m) without power loss under nominal conditions and increase fuel efficiency by 15% to 20 % in comparison to serial trucks. The engines are equipped with special systems assuring engine trouble-free start at low ambient temperatures to -50°C.
Improved tractive capabilities of Mustang trucks are provided by a ten-speed gearbox (KAMAZ-4350, KAMAZ-5350) or nine-speed gearbox (KAMAZ-6350), with possible installation of ZF gearbox 16S151 to use trucks in heavy off-road conditions.

“Kama-1260” cross-country radial tires with variable pressure are provided on Mustang military trucks. With tire pressure change, its supporting portion increases to provide the truck off-road capability, i.e. fording up to 1.75 m, ability to overcome trenches of 0.6m to 1.4m and walls of 0.6m height, with high specific power developed.

The Mustang military truck family comprises all proven technical solutions of serial trucks, such as differential lock, improved air-cleaning system and advanced brake system assuring quick brake release. Different power take-off and transfer case versions will satisfy even the most demanding consumer. A geared hoist with 82m cable is installed on all trucks to provide for mobility in heavy road conditions and for recovery of stuck vehicles. Protracted front and rear buffers allow recovery of a truck by pushing it forward or pulling it back by a similar truck. This design was first used in combat action in Afghanistan.
